Mayela Dreams of Representing Her Country in the Olympics

Mano Amiga Conkal student Mayela Nariana Novelo Saenz currently holds the seventh place position in fencing in Mexico.  The twelve-year-old sixth grader is an excellent student and a dedicated and disciplined athlete.  She aspires to represent Mexico in the Olympics, but she lacks the funds necessary to pay for the travel costs associated with the mandatory physical exam that is administered by the National Center for High Performance.

It is hoped that appeals in the community, including an article in the local newspaper, will result in enough donations to finance her trip.
