2006 Education Leadership Award Dinner
In Honor of Claudio X. González, CEO of Kimberly Clark de México
Worldfund would like to thank everyone who made our June 12th Education Leadership Award dinner in honor of Claudio X. González Laporte such a success. 400 people came in support of Claudio and a cause dear to his heart, education in Latin America. We raised $1.6 million, which will be directed to proven education projects in Latin America and to capacity building at Worldfund.

One of the many highlights of the evening was Francisco Rivera's speech. Francisco rose from challenging circumstances to graduate at the top of his class at one of Worldfund's partner schools. Today, he is one of the best students in his engineering program at a Mexican university. As a testament to Francisco's tenacity in continuing his studies, he travels four hours a day on buses to attend his classes.
We are so appreciative of the generous outpouring of support, but we still have a long way to go to make Worldfund a world-leading organization dedicated to improving education levels in Latin America. We are grateful for your ongoing support of this noble and achievable aim.
