Better World Books is a U.S.-based social venture that supports literacy and education initiatives locally, nationally and internationally. In July 2006, Worldfund and Better World Books joined forces to improve education in Latin America!

Better World Books fulfills its mission by creating new value for old books and harnessing the power of commerce to generate a “social profit.” Through campus textbook drives at over 1,200 North American colleges and universities and agreements with over 750 libraries and thrift stores, Better World Books has collected more than 10 million books. The company evaluates each book collected to determine its best possible use and then either sells the book online to raise funds for its nonprofit partners, sends it to one of its partners for direct use or recycles it.
