"One Child One Dream One Future At A Time" Awarded Prize at Telly Awards

June 2008

We are happy to announce that "One Child One Dream One Future At A Time," the 2008 Fundraising Video Produced by Tribe Pictures for Worldfund has been awarded one of the two top prizes at the 29th Telly Awards in the Fund Raising category.

The concept for the 5-minute video was created by Dennis Gelbaum, Managing Director of Tribe Pictures, Chatham, NJ. "We (Tribe Pictures) are experts in telling engaging, compelling, inspiring stories and this project, shot in Chalco, Mexico and Salvador, Brazil provided us with a fantastic canvas and moments of joy that we were able to capture on video. We helped tell the story, but the stars of this video are the children, their families, the teachers and Worldfund," Gelbaum comments.

Vern Oakley, Founder and CEO of Tribe Pictures added, "we have worked for decades to master the art of telling a story that elicits an emotional reaction for our clients. Having children talk about their dreams and their future and how they can help change the lives of others in their family and community was incredibly touching. This was a wonderful project and experience for all of us at Tribe Pictures."

The Telly Awards was founded in 1980 to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable TV commercials.  The competition was expanded several years ago to include film and video productions as well as non-network TV programming.  In the 28 years since its beginning, the Telly Awards has become a well-known, highly respected national competition.  The Telly has become one of the most sought-after awards in the TV, commercial and video industry.  The Telly statuette has even appeared on the set of many TV shows, such as thirtysomething, Newhart and Murder She Wrote.  Telly has moved up from TV to the Silver Screen.  The Mel Gibson movie, "What Women Want," used ten Telly statuettes as props in various creative offices and in the conference room on the movie set.

This year's competition drew 14,000 entries with participants coming from all over the world.  Entries do not compete against each other.  Rather, they compete against a high standard of excellence, using a 10-point scale.

The Bronze Statuette represents a significant achievement for "One Child One Dream One Future At A Time" in the very competitive category of fund raising.
